Leo Stableford Often compared to early NIN the comparison is clear but, possibly, not entirely fair. Halo In Reverse is a true one man band whereas early NIN owed a great debt to being a collective effort between Reznor and his band mates of the time. The fact that one person can produce such a rounded, brutal and visceral industrial rock experience should be praised beyond its simple similarity to something else. The confrontational, brutal lyrics are also less coy than Reznor's metaphorical meat soup. Favorite track: I Machine.

Belgium's Alfa Matrix record company has always shown an interest in the eclectic side with the selection of artists signed to the label. The USA act HALO IN REVERSE is living proof of this and above all a very promising surprise. This one-man American band fits into the electro / industrial rock genre that mixes trashy guitar with depressive piano rolls, and aggressive intricate electronics all fused together with Joshua Steffen's raging sexuality, and high energy synthesizers. All these elements all bundled up collide with personal demons and powerful attitude.

Drawing from influences as diverse as DEPECHE MODE, Peter Gabriel, MINISTRY or yet Rob Zombie, it is with NINE INCH NAILS' early and more aggressive days that HALO IN REVERSE's music is the most easily compared to. Or as a journalist correctly said: "HALO IN REVERSE starts where NINE INCH NAILS' best material stopped!"
